presents

Africa Finance Forum

April 20, 2017
1:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Dentons
1900 K Street, NW
 Washington, DC

Over the past decade, African countries have been committed to developing their infrastructure. They have relied primarily on funding from development finance institutions and their national budgets.  Such reliance has not provided sufficient resources relative to the infrastructure development needs, estimated to be over $93 billion per year. It is generally recognized that a transition to greater use of private financing is needed to close the infrastructure financing gap. The partnership between private and public sector financiers has created new opportunities for investment, but also new challenges.

Panelists from both public and private sectors will explore:
  •  How  African governments engage in debt management to leverage financing for infrastructure projects
  • The market’s appetite for infrastructure bonds
  • The role of structured finance and traditional project financing
  • Special financing challenges in regional infrastructure projects
  • Lessons learned and best practices for structuring a deal from conception to delivery

Presentations will be followed by a networking reception.
