Dubbed the “Steve Jobs of Africa” Verone Mankou, Founder and CEO of VMK, is leading the African technology revolution. Rated as one of Africa’s top entrepreneurs under 30 by Forbes, in 2011 Verone Mankou rolled out VMK’s first product: a tablet computer, the Way-C. The Way-C is notably the first tablet designed by an African. On sale since January 2012 in Congo and France, it will soon be available in the rest of Africa. The tablet has since opened the way to a new product, the Elikia Smartphone launched in late 2012. To fulfill his vision of an Africa where most people have access to technology, VMK is currently working on a home computer under $100 and a digital textbook: a tablet dedicated to education.
